Announcing New Cloud 2.0 Technology
- June 07th, 2012
We are excited to announce the launch of Cloud 2.0. This new and improved Cloud has many enhanced features providing you with greater flexibility and scalability with many more options to fully customize your Cloud to the specific needs of your business. In addition to the cloud computing features found in the Simple Helix SimpleCloud 1.0, new features available with Cloud 2.0 are:
Jumbo VMs: Now you can provision huge VMs on the Simple Helix Cloud to run your most demanding applications. Enjoy robust VMs up to 8 vCPUs, 256 GB RAM and 2 TB hard drives!
Application Templates: Now you can deploy many popular open-source software application stacks instantly right from the Simple Helix public catalog, for FREE.
These ISOs are optimized and ready to run. No more multi-step provisioning (provision the server, install the operating system, install the application). Now do it all in one step and log into your application in just a couple minutes.
Linked Clones: Now you can clone your VMs, vApps and catalogs and only the changes in the new clones are actually stored in your virtual data center.
vApp Level Custom Guest Properties: Now you have more granular control over your vApp properties with scripting ability and control over the VM inside the vApp. This allows you to pass custom data using OVF descriptors while provisioning a vApp.
Global Language Settings: Now the vCloud Director portal supports multiple languages.
Extended vCloud API and SDK: All functions available in our native vCloud portal are now available through the API.
vShield VPN Integration: Now included, free of cost, in 2.0 is the vShield firewall and VPN integration that gives you more robust security controls in creating secure site-to-site VPN tunnels for customers or external systems.
